Roberto Boffi, MD, is Chief Consultant at the Tobacco Control Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan. He has been serving as faculty member for several graduate and post-graduate courses of the University of Milan. He is author or co-author of more than 100 articles as well as book chapters regarding onco-respiratory medicine rather than tobacco-related topics.
Ario A. Ruprecht, BSc, is Consultant for environmental pollution measurements at the Tobacco Control Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan and at various Italian Museums such as the Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci in Milan and the Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel in Padua. He is author or co-author of over 70 articles on SHS indoor and outdoor, Museums and urban environment pollution.
Alessandro Borgini is an environmental health biologist collaborator at the Environmental Epidemiology Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan expert in the assessment of exposure to specific contaminants in environmental matrix (air, water and soil) and acute and chronic effects in populations living in particularly contaminated areas. He is an experienced chronic disease epidemiologist with interest in the link between environment and different factors in the etiology of Cancer. He has actively participated in various European Projects (SEARCH, HYENA, EUROLIFENET, TRUSTNET-IN-ACTION) on topics related to exposure to atmospheric contaminants and health effects also in school environment through the use of active and passive samplers for the monitoring of fine atmospheric particulates PM2.5, BTEX, O3, NOx and Aldehydes. He is author and co-author of over 20 articles of environmental pollutants and health effects. At Tobacco Control Unit, is a new collaborator researcher focused on SHS indoor and outdoor measurement.
Chiara Veronese, Pharm.D, is a new member of Tobacco Control Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milano. Her research activities are focused on tobacco harm reduction, e-cigarettes, efficacy and safety of antismoking medications.
Cinzia De Marco holds a B.Sc. in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques from the University of Milan with a thesis titled “Development of a microsystem for dosing the incorporation of drugs and precursors labeled nucleic acids in human cancer cells” performed at the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy. Cizia De Marco has worked at Experimental Oncology & Molecular Medicine Dept on research focused on isolation and characterization of patient-derived primary cell cultures including breast cancer initiating cells, activated fibroblast and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells; identification of plasmatic DNA mutational profile associated with breast cancer relapse. At Tobacco Control Unit, Cinzia De Marco has realised research focused on SHS indoor and outdoor measurement, school intervention for smoking prevention, museum and urban environmental pollution measurement. She is author and co-author of many articles on the mentioned topics.
Andrea Tittarelli is a database manager and a statistics technician. He works in Cancer Registry staff and he was involved in various environmental epidemiologic studies. He has expertise in: health data collection; managing data for insertion in relationaldatabases; developing and testing record linkage techniques; using health data to produce cancer incidence indicators; and performing epidemiological studies (including interpretation of results and writing scientific papers).
